Sound that helps you focus
sotuno plays functional music made for what you are doing right now: deep work, study, winding down and sleep. No lyrics, no playlists to manage, no ads.
Built for people who want to get things done, not for the algorithm.
No lyrics, no ads
Nothing that pulls your attention back to the music.
One tap, then silence
Pick a mode, set a timer, press play. That is the whole interface.
Made in Germany
Built in Cologne. Your data stays in Germany and is never sold.
Cancel anytime
Monthly or yearly, one plan, no hidden tiers.
One app, four states of mind.
Each mode is a separate library, composed and mixed for that one purpose. You never scroll through it. You just press play.
Focus for deep work and study
Steady tempo, no vocals, slowly evolving textures. Music that stays in the background while you write, code, read or learn, and that keeps going for as long as your session does.
- Sessions from 25 minutes to several hours
- Timer that fades the music out when you are done
- Energy level from calm to driving
Relax for the moments in between
Slow, warm and unhurried. For the break after a long call, the walk home or the half hour before dinner when you want to come down without switching off completely.
- Short sessions of 10 to 30 minutes
- Nature-leaning textures without cheesy sound effects
- Works with headphones or from a speaker in the room
Sleep for winding down and drifting off
Very slow, very soft, and designed to disappear. Start it when you go to bed, and let the timer lower the volume over the first hour while you fall asleep.
- Gentle fade over 30, 60 or 90 minutes
- No sudden changes, no beats, no surprises
- Optional all-night mode for a quiet, even sound bed
Press play. That is the whole workflow.
No playlists to build, no albums to pick, no algorithm to argue with. Three decisions, then the music gets out of your way.
Step 1
Pick a mode
Focus, Relax, Sleep or Meditate. That is the only choice you have to make.
50:00
Step 2
Set a timer
Choose how long your session runs. The music fades out gently when it ends.
Step 3
Press play
One continuous session, no gaps, no interruptions, no "up next" pop-ups.
Whatever you are doing, there is a session for it.
sotuno is a tool, not a mood board. Every session is designed around a real situation in your day.
Deep work
Writing, coding, analysis. Long sessions that stay out of the way.
Studying
Reading and memorising without vocals competing for the same part of your brain.
Creative work
Design, sketching, ideation. Slightly more movement, still no distraction.
Reading
A quiet sound bed for the evening book instead of the notifications.
Winding down
The hour after work, the walk home, the bath. Coming down without switching off.
Falling asleep
Soft, slow and fading. Start it in bed and let the timer do the rest.
Functional music is composed for a purpose, not for the charts.
Ordinary music wants your attention. Functional music is built to hold a state and then get out of the way. Every sotuno session follows a few simple production rules that research on music and attention keeps pointing to. We describe them openly, and we do not claim more than that.
Steady tempo
No drops, no builds, no surprises. A stable pulse is easier for the brain to file away as background.
No vocals
Words in music compete with words in your head. Every sotuno track is purely instrumental.
Slow modulation
Textures evolve over minutes, not seconds. Enough change to avoid monotony, too little to notice.
Long sessions
Composed for 25 minutes to several hours in one piece. No gaps, no album breaks, no "up next".
sotuno is a wellness product, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition.
A small team in Cologne that got tired of fighting the playlist.
We have spent years building software for companies. sotuno is the first product we are building for ourselves and for people like us: people who need to concentrate for hours, who wind down badly, and who are done with music apps that keep interrupting. We are composing the first libraries now and will open the doors in small waves during 2026.

Music that is composed for a task rather than for listening. It follows production rules that keep it in the background: a steady tempo, no vocals, slow changes and long, seamless sessions. You put it on to do something else, not to listen to it.
No. sotuno is a wellness product for everyday focus, relaxation and sleep routines. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition, and it is not a substitute for medical advice.
We are composing the first libraries and building the player right now. People on the early-access list get invited in small waves during 2026, use sotuno for free while we finish it, and lock in the launch price afterwards.
€12.99 per month or €89 per year. Students, trainees and teachers pay €4.99 per month or €49 per year. One plan, everything included.
The web player comes first and runs in any modern browser on desktop or phone. Native iOS and Android apps follow at launch.
Yes. Focus works best with headphones because it keeps the room out, but Relax, Sleep and Meditate are made to play from a speaker in the room as well.
Your email address and your answers are stored on servers in Germany, used only to invite you and to shape the product, and deleted when you ask. No advertising networks, no tracking pixels, no selling of data.
The music is composed and produced by people. We use software to arrange, extend and mix sessions to the required length, the way any producer would. No fully AI-generated tracks.
